in honour of Portugal Day.   The flag-raising ceremony will be accompanied by performances of the Canadian and Portuguese national anthems and will help get you in the festive move for this great coming

Dear Friends,

Please join me on Thursday June 8, 2017 at 6:30pm for the Pessoa Park Ground-breaking Ceremony at the site of the future park at the corner of Dufferin St and Peel Ave! “Pessoa” means person in Portuguese and Pessoa Park was named by the community earlier this year to celebrate the neighbourhood’s rich Portuguese heritage and the park’s role as a place for people to gather. Pessoa also happens to be the name of one of the most celebrated Portuguese Poets, Fernando Pessoa. The park will include a new public square with water jets, landscaped gardens, and a connection to the future extension of the West Toronto Railpath, cementing its role as an hub for our community.

I hope you can join me for this exciting event and I look forward to seeing you there!

The Alliance of Portuguese Clubs and Associations of Ontario (ACAPO) once again presents the Annual Portugal Week Festival.

Portuguese parade will be along Dundas West between Lansdowne and Crawford (starts at 11 am) –  See ACAPO website for details. This is a child friendly and free event.
